SCHEDULING
YOUR SURGERY

Scheduling Your Surgery

You will receive a surgical folder with all the documents pertaining to your upcoming surgery. Please review our surgery guidelines and keep this important information as a reference during your scheduling phone call with our Surgery Scheduler.

Clearances and Testing

Your physician requires medical clearance to be completed by your primary care physician and any other specialists that you see. This is to assure you are in the best medical health to undergo anesthesia and surgery. You will receive clearance forms for your physician(s) to sign at the time of scheduling. You will also need to complete bloodwork and an EKG at a laboratory of your choosing.  It is your responsibility to make the appointments with your physician(s) and have the testing completed. The clearances and labs must be completed at least 2 weeks in advance of surgery and can be completed as early as 90 days prior to surgery.

Joint Replacement Education

For helpful information on how to prepare for and what to expect from your surgery follow this link to a short video provided by Tower Health.

This appointment is your scheduled time to speak with a surgical services nurse to review your medical history, review your medication and instructions prior to surgery day.  You will also receive detailed preoperative instructions during this call to prepare for you for your surgery. All testing can be done within 90 days of surgery.

Finalize Appointment

A finalize appointment is required, which will be scheduled at the time your surgery date is made. During the finalize appointment, you will see either your physician or physician’s assistant to discuss your procedure, test results, and clearances.  All medical clearances are due at the time of this appointment. You will also receive detailed preoperative instructions from your provider to prepare for surgery.
