FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What Insurance Plans Do We Accept?

Bone & Joint Care Center participates with many insurance plans. As a participating provider, we will accept the carrier’s allowable amount. Patients are responsible for co-payments, co-insurance, co-insurance amounts and/or deductibles, as well as payment for services not normally covered by the carrier. If your patient is insured under a plan that we do not participate with, we can make arrangements to courtesy bill the carrier. However, the patient is responsible for the bill in its entirety. Our office also accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover, including HSA and FSA debit cards as well as cash and personal checks as methods of payment.

Do I need to provide a referral?

If the patient’s insurance requires a referral form from their PCP to visit our practice, the referral must be obtained by the patient and presented to us at the time of the visit. Routine referrals may be placed in EPIC. Non-EPIC providers may refer patients by calling our office at 484-628-2663, ext. 1, or faxing to our office at 484-628-2621. Please send all pertinent records at the time of the referral, including recent progress notes, pathology, and lab reports.

Do You Accept Secondary Insurance?

We strive to provide complete billing service to our patients. We will submit a secondary insurance claim a maximum of two times. After two submissions without a response, the balance will be billed to the patient. Our office will not file to tertiary insurances but will provide the necessary documents to do so upon request.

Do you have a self-pay policy?

Yes, however patients without insurance coverage who wish to receive care with us must establish a payment plan with our billing department prior to receiving services or immediately after receiving emergency services.
