MEET
Kenneth J. McAlpine, Jr., MD

Dr. Kenneth J McAlpine, Jr. is a Florida native, who earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology, with a minor in Philosophy at Haverford College in Haverford, PA.  After graduation, he returned to Tallahassee, Florida where he earned his Doctor of Medicine at Florida State University College of Medicine.  Dr. McAlpine subsequently completed his residency requirements in Orthopedic Surgery followed by a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at Boston Medical Center.

Dr. McAlpine joined Bone and Joint Care Center in August 2019, bringing with him his expertise and training in the latest advancements in orthopedic care like 3D total joint replacement. Trained in comprehensive orthopedic care, including fracture and emergency care, his focus is on robotic-assisted total joint replacement as well as lower-extremity adult orthopedic reconstruction. Additionally, Dr. McAlpine is highly experienced in joint revision surgery and the evaluation of painful or infected total joints. In 2022, Dr. McAlpine was named the Director of Hip Fracture Care at Reading Hospital.

Dr. McAlpine is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), and a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS). He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Medical Society.  In his spare time, he enjoys golf, playing the guitar and, of course, spending time with his wife and children.
